Linda Faye Wright Hicks, 69, of Mountain Grove, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at her residence.
She was born July 6, 1948 in Alleghany County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry Fulton Wright and Ida Florence Bess Wright Arthur.
Mrs. Hicks retired from Bacova Guild in the printing department. She loved gardening and working with her flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Linda was a very strong woman who loved life.
She was married to the late Danny Lee Hicks who preceded her in death on May 27, 2015.
Surviving are her children, Richard Clarkson & wife Robin of Waiteville, West Virginia, Linda Higgins & husband Bobby of Gretna, Virginia, Christopher Clarkson of Mountain Grove, Jacob Clarkson & wife Amy of Guthrie, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Matthew Higgins & wife Hannah, Chelsea Webb, Ashley Higgins, Montana Clarkson, Hannah Clarkson, Ranger Clarkson, Nicholas Higgins, Olivia Clarkson, Caleb Clarkson and Cassidy Clarkson; great grandchildren, Eli Higgins; brothers, David Wright & wife Joann, Harry F. Wright, Jr., Marvin Paul Wright, Calvin Wright; sisters, Nellie Campbell & husband Robert, Thelma Dotson & husband Lee, Violet Jefferies, Barbara Tingler, Mable Mann & husband Wayne, Carol Jean Hallet & husband James; step brother and sisters, Jim, Bervie, Charlotte and Nancy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis, Henry, Leo and two sisters, Mildred and Diane; stepbrother, Roger and stepsister, Linda.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Lee Dotson & Reverend Richard Boyer officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Clarkson, James Hallet, Bobby Higgins, Matthew Higgins, Nicholas Higgins, Ranger Clarkson, Donnie Bogan, Richard Clarkson and Jacob Clarkson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday evening at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.

Prayers, the first time I meet you was when your nephew ( Randy Wright) father away( your brother), i remember you calling Randy( randy Travis and then hear you telling stores about your brother like everyone else was and sweet and nice you were to me, wish I could got to know you more but your in a better place now and at peace and with the rest of your family, you well be missed and Randy was talking about you today and about you were call him .   2. Condolences to Linda’s family. She will certainly will be missed, but we all know she is resting comfortable, free of pain and picking flowers for the master’s bouquet.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a lovely lady both inside and out. I know you will miss her tremendously, but know you have a special angel always looking out for all of you.
