Lizabeth Scott “Scottie” Brinkley, 46, of 471 Forestry Road, Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia.
She was born April 9, 1965 in Hot Springs, the daughter of the late Alvin Lee Brinkley and Madeline Baldwin Brinkley.
She was formerly employed with Lear Corporation and the Homestead Resort.
Scottie enjoyed fishing, camping and going for rides. She was a fun loving person who enjoyed life. She had a big heart and was a friend to everybody.
She is survived by a brother, Dewey Brinkley & wife Alma of La-Porte, Texas; six sisters, Phyllis Carter & husband Jimmy of Gastonia, North Carolina, Linda Holsinger & husband Mike of Strasburg, Virginia, Mary Sue Smith & husband Eddie of Falling Springs, Virginia, Crystal Brinkley of Woodstock, Virginia, Debbie Kaye Brinkley of Hot Springs, Virginia and Tina Marie Cote & husband Mark of Blacksburg, Virginia; a special aunt, Thelma B. Rodgers of Hot Springs; special friend, Carl Cleek of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2012 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastors Steve Shaver & John Klink officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph May, Jay Phillips, Jason Stokes, Justin Smith, Dale Kershner, Carl McCune, Kenny Phillips, Mark Roller.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at McLaughlin and Young Funeral Home or anytime at the home of Scottie on 471 Forestry Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Covenant Family Church, c/o Kathy Strasser, 54 Wilkerson Ave., Hot Springs, Virginia 24445.

  3. It’s hard to explain how the passing of Scottie makes me feel. She was sure one of a kind. We went to the prom together and had a blast. I love her whole family and I can only imagine the pain that they are going through. She sure had her mom’s personality. If you couldn’t love her mom, you couldn’t love anyone!!

  6. I’m sorry to hear of “Scottie’s” passing. I first met “Scottie” at Lear.She was my co-worker.I didn’t know her a long time but she was my friend. She always showed care and concern toward me.I recall not too long ago I saw her in “Double C”…. she was so glad to see me and she came up to me and greeted me and gave me a hug.   16. During the years I ran the shoe shop at the Homestead, I never saw Scottie without a smile on her face. She always had a kind word and treated me with respect. She was just a great person with a big heart. Peace & sympathies to all her family.
