Barbour 001 Madeline U. Barbour, 93, of 301 Beetown Road, Warm Springs, Virginia passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs, Virginia.
She was born June 14, 1920 in Warm Springs, the daughter of the late MacFarland Church and Nannie Turpin Church. Mrs. Barbour was retired from the Homestead Resort where she worked as a parlor maid and in several other departments.
Mrs. Barbour enjoyed fishing, crocheting and the Bath County Senior Citizens. She was a former member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.
She is survived by a son, Carl Church & wife Patricia of Warm Springs; a grandson Ricki Church & wife Donna of Ashburn, Virginia, a great granddaughter, Whitney Church of Ashburn; a son-in-law, Charles King of Reston, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death a son, Harrison Carlyle Church; a daughter, Peggy King; sisters, Cleo Dickerson, Grace Church, Lois Church, Nannie Underwood; and brothers, Quinton Church and Harry Church.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2013 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend W. Ed Mansfield, officiating.
