Margaret Ann Reid Wright, 90, of Bedford, Virginia passed from this life to her Heavenly home on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Bedford County Nursing Home.
She was born March 14, 1929 in Floyd County, the daughter of the late George Washington Reid and Beulah Thompson Reid.
She was retired from Piedmont Label Company where she worked in the Art Department.
She was a former member of Bedford Professional Women; attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the Longwood Ave. Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and canning her produce, cooking, and activities with her family such as fishing, camping, trips to the beach and family gatherings. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.
She was married to her husband of 57 years, Albert Johnson Wright, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 4, 2010.
She is survived by her son, John Wright & wife Jane of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Bobby Wright & Fiancé Jerilyn Scholten of Covington, and Sarah Wright of Vinton; two sisters, Catherine R. Virts of Roanoke and Betty R. Goodman & husband Charles of Bedford; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Charles & Hazel Wright of Bedford and Mrs. James (Irma) Wright of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles W. Reid, Sr., Robert V. Reid, Sr., Jack C. Reid, Sr., Thomas H. Reid; and a sister Lillie Mae (Louise) Abbott.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1118 Ebenezer Road, Bedford, Virginia 24523 with Pastor Mark Wilkerson, officiating & Pastor Ross Gilfillen, assisting.
