Margaret Carpenter Lindsay, 85, of Millboro, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs.
Margaret was born on August 6, 1925 in Millboro, Virginia. She was a homemaker and wife to the late James Wayne Lindsay, Sr.
Margaret was a member of Life Line Ministries and she enjoyed singing and listening to Gospel Hymns. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and an avid gardener, but her passion was always her family.
Surviving are her children, Jerry Lindsay & wife Sharon of Warm Springs; David Lindsay & wife Nettie of Hot Springs; George Lindsay & wife Gloria of Hot Springs; Jeanette Plecker & husband Wilson “Buzz” of Millboro; Nancy Young & husband Larry of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Reginia Hamilton & husband Charlie of Hot Springs; a half sister, Marie “Sis” Hickman; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Jimmy Lindsay; one great grandchild, Landon Coates; a brother; and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home in Hot Springs or at the homes of George and Gloria Lindsay, 99 Thomastown Road, Hot Springs or David and Nettie Lindsay 247 Ashwood Drive, Hot Springs. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Lenny Stinnett officiating.
Pallbearers will be Larry Young, Billy Thomas, Joe Cochran, Corey Clark, Steven Lindsay, Rocky Malcolm, David Stinnett, and Buzz Plecker.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Millboro Area Rescue Squad Millboro, Virginia. Arrangements are being handled by McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
