Margreate “Margaret” Frances Jones, 87, of Warm Springs, Virginia died Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at her residence.
She was born February 24, 1929 in Bath County, Virginia the daughter of the late Burton Brown Dawson and Ida Mae Dawson.
She was employed as waitress Homestead Resort.
She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church; Bath County Senior Citizens; she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her four children, Dorothy Jones of Newport News, Virginia, Juanita Jones of Newport News, Patricia Church & husband Carl of Warm Springs, John Jones of Silver Springs, Maryland; 7 grandchildren Lawanna Jones, Dewayne Bass, Donald Washington, Allison Dayes, Jasmine Jones, John Jones, Jr. and Yasmine Jones; 13 great grandchildren; special friends at the Bath County Seniors Citizens and numerous other friends and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend Nathaniel Taylor officiating. Interment will be in West Warm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the family.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Warm Springs community gets smaller! It is hard to see neighbors and friends leave this life and time seems so short. Margaret was my neighbor for about 25 years (until I moved to Covington) and was always thoughtful and kind. I know that she will be greatly missed. May you all be in GODs Care.
