Martha J. Combs, 78, of 102 N. Chatham Drive, Richmond, Virginia passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at her residence.
She was born September 11, 1934 in Alleghany County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert D. Pritt and Ella May Pritt. She was married to Rastus Combs, Jr., her husband of 49 years whom she married on December 23, 1963.
She was an office employee having worked for several companies including Life of Virginia. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.
In addition to her husband Rastus “Rex” Combs, Jr., she is survived by a son, Larry Wade & wife Deborah of Richmond; a brother, Robert Pritt & wife Alberta of Hot Springs, Virginia; 2 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Grover Lee Pritt.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Garland Humphries officiating. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 -8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
