Mona H Robertson, 90, of Warm Springs, Virginia, died Saturday July 30, 2011 at the Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs.

Mrs. Robertson was born June 5, 1921 in McDowell, Virginia, the daughter of the late Samuel Berlin Hammer and Grace Ralston Hammer. She was married to Kenneth L. Robertson, her husband of 55 years, whom she married on October 29, 1955.

She was employed by Mrs. Marie Dice of Bath County for many years. Mrs. Robertson was a faithful member of Starr Bolar United Methodist Church for many years. She was very active in the United Methodist Women where she served as a district officer several times. She was an honorary member of the Bolar Ruritan Club and provided many hours of service during the Maple Festival, the Highland County Fair, and other club activities. Mrs. Robertson was also a supporter of the Bolar Fire Department.

She is survived by her husband of fifty five years, Kenneth Robertson of Warm Springs; a son, Nicholas Scaboo and wife Linda of Waynesboro, Virginia; a special granddaughter, Tracey McCray and husband Michael of McDowell, Virginia; nephews, Pat Lamb of Fort Defiance, Virginia and Dale Botkin and wife Sandy of McDowell, Virginia; several great nephews and nieces; a special first cousin, Jack Hicklin and wife Betty of Hot Springs, Virginia; and a loving sister-in-law, Nancy Hodge and husband Lonnie of Hot Springs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Maytie Williams, Lenore Botkin, Pauline Lamb, and Zula Mae Hammer.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Lee Altizer officiating. Interment will follow at Warm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Rexrode, Bill Bratton, Frankie Hicklin, Pete Kay, Eddie Green, and Ronnie Moyers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bolar Ruritan Club and Star Bolar Church.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
