Nancy Belle Robertson Hodge, 87, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Monday, June 09, 2025, at her residence.

She was born May 9, 1938, in Warm Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Edna Lee Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Hodge, the love of her life for 65 years. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2019.

Nancy was a dedicated employee of the Hot Springs Pharmacy with 47 years of service having started there in 1965. Prior to that she worked at the Warm Springs Inn as a waitress.

She was a previous member of Ashwood United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Board and the Kitchen Committee. She worked tirelessly on the fundraiser committee to build the new social hall. She was a current member of Eden Church where she was very active with the Eden’s Women’s group. An avid bowler, she bowled with the Covington League as well as the Homestead League on the “Fearsome Four” Team. A member of the “Lunch Bunch”, she enjoyed attending their monthly luncheons and spending time with her friends.  She was a previous member of the Bath County Cancer Society and an active supporter of the Relay for Life.

She and her husband Lonnie loved to travel and took many trips to Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Forge, and Charlestown, West Virginia. Her son Roger and daughter-in-law Val lived in Michigan, prompting many road trips north to visit family.

Nancy will be remembered as a loving, caring, generous person who was a friend to all.

She is survived by her niece Tracey McCray & husband Mike of McDowell, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Valerie Hodge of Battlecreek, Michigan; grandchildren, Heather VanAmeyden and Lonnie Vincent Hodge both of Battlecreek; great grandchildren, Taran & Bryce VanAmeyden.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Hodge, and brother, Kenneth Lee Robertson

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Bill Gram officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery.

The Pallbearers will be Carl Williams, Simon Williams, Tony Stern, Richard McElwee, Freddy Harold, Reed Williams, Atticus Stauffer, Don Ryder, and John Young; Honorary Pallbearers, Jim Lindsay & Wayne Winebriner.

The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.

    • To the family of Nancy Hodge. I knew Nancy and Lonnie as they used to come into my restaurant (JoJos Place) and have dinner from time to time. A great couple is now together again. RIP Nancy.

  3. Heaven gained another sweet angel on Monday. She is now in the presence of the Lord and she is healed. She is finally reunited with Lonnie, her mama, my dear sweet grandma Emma Swearengin and so many other loved ones up there. May God be with all those who knew and loved Nancy and are mourning her passing. RIP sweet lady.
