Nancy Carol Keyser, 78, of Mountain Crest Apartment 10, Hot Springs, Virginia, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at her residence.
She was born December 3, 1934 in Hot Springs, the daughter of the late Littleton “Lit” Andrew Keyser and Edith Gillispie Keyser.
Nancy was employed as cashier at the Warm Springs Market. Prior to that, she worked at the Duck Inn, the First Virginia Bank and the Pump Storage Project. She was a member of Ashwood United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, a member of the choir and worked in the nursery. She was a loving sister and mother figure.
She is survived by her foster sister, LaDonna Kay Bussard Maxwell & husband Ronald of Branson, Missouri; two brothers, Bobby L. Keyser of Marion, Indiana and Gary L. Keyser of Margate, Florida; and a sister; Betty R. Giles of Huntington, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by a foster brother, Jackie Monroe Bussard; two brothers, Charles “Lindy” Keyser and Moses “Moe” Edward Keyser; and a sister, Karen Sue Keyser Craig.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Ashwood United Methodist Church with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Keyser, Gary Keyser, Pete Haynes, Tommy Ford, Frank Johnson, Grey Lee Hicks, Jim Lindsay and Wayne Winebriner.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.

  1. Debbie and I have many fond memories of our wonderful years in Bath County. Among them are the times that Nancy would sing, especially around Christmas – “O Holy Night.” If I am real quiet, I can hear another voice added to that great heavenly chorus. Rest in peace, Nancy. But keep on singing.
