Norman J. Lucchese, 84, of Warm Springs, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Mt. Solon, Virginia.
He was born June 16, 1926 in Waterloo, Illinois, the son of the late Joseph Lucchese and Beulah Stumph Lucchese.
He was married to his wife of 43 years, Doris E. Lucchese. He was retired from the 3M Company in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Mr. Lucchese was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII. He was a member of the Starr Bolar United Methodist Church and attended Woodland Church in Millboro. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed motorcycles and woodworking. He was a former driver for Bath County Meals on Wheels; helped as a volunteer driver for doctor and hospital visits throughout the county; a volunteer at the Bolar Ruritan during the Maple Festival; a volunteer at Eden United Methodist Church during the Apple Butter Festival.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Huffman & husband Gary of Mt. Solon, Virginia; two grandchildren, Doug Huffman & wife Christy of Grottoes, Virginia and Jennifer Rousseau & husband Brian of Staunton, Virginia; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Lucchese and Dutch Lucchese.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor David George & Pastor Steve Shaver officiating. Interment will be in the Warm Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home.
