Warm Springs – Oliver C. “Mickey” Wright III, MJ U. S. Army Retired age 51, of Fredericksburg, VA went to be with his Lord on September 21, 2013 at his residence.
Oliver was born August 31, 1962 in Bath County, Virginia. He was the son of Evelyn M. Wright and the late Oliver C. Wright Jr. Oliver was a twenty-two year veteran of the United States Army, retiring in 2004 as a Major. He was formerly employed with the Department of Defense. He was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church in Stafford, Virginia. Oliver loved his family. He enjoyed writing, reading, history and golfing. He was an avid sports fan and loved to cook and grill.
He is survived by his mother Evelyn M. Wright of Hot Springs; his wife, of twenty five years, Karen Y. Wright of Westminster, MD; one son, Raymond Wright of Fredericksburg, VA; one sister, Theresa V. Wright of New York, NY; and one granddaughter, Miciah Louvell. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother Ernest Wright.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday September 28, 2013 at the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Virginia, officiated by Rev. W. Ed Mansfield. Interment will be in the West Warm Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the West Warm Springs Cemetery Fund. Full military honors will be provided by the Curtis A. Smith, VFW Post 1033.   1. My condolences to Mrs. Wright. I still don’t believe this. It hasn’t been two weeks ago that I goggled Mickey to get his number to call him since I heard that he lived in Fredericksburg where I work. I failed to make the call and now this. My feelings go out to this this family. They are one of the sweetest family’s I have ever been associated with.

  3. To Evelyn & Mickey’s family.
    Was real surprised to hear of Mickey’s passing. He was such a sweet boy, as we remembered him from high school with Barry. We are so proud of his military career & what a great person he was. Know he will be missed by Hot Springs friends as well.
