Olivia Lanier Pole Thomas Peery, 94, of 159 Addison Patch Road, Hot Springs, Virginia died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her residence.
She was born January 15, 1919 in Warm Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Frank Thomas and Laura Mines Thomas. She was married to the late William E. “Bill” Peery who preceded her in death in 1982.
Mrs. Peery was retired from the housekeeping department at the Homestead Resort.
She was a member of the Healing Springs Baptist Church; the Ladies Auxiliary; and the Bath County Emergency Committee. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother & great great grandmother.
She is survived by four children, Patricia Stover & husband Smokey Joe, Lettie Mae Cauley & husband Hubert “Thornton”, Clarence Peery and Harold Peery all of Hot Springs; a sister, Virginia Faurote of Hot Springs; a niece, Betty Bonds of Hot Springs; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Faurote and a daughter-in-law, Wilma Jean Peery.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend John Klink officiating. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons, Paul Peery, Billy Stover, Brian Stover, Justin Lindsay, Alex Lindsay, Will Fry and Dennis Carter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan Hepler, Billy Baldwin, David Lindsay, Kevin Fry, Lee Church and Tommy Baldwin.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
