Patricia Cauley Gillispie, 68, of Hot Springs, Virginia left us peacefully on Sunday, January 06, 2013 at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia surrounded by her family.
She was born February 16, 1944 in Hot Springs, the daughter of Frances Hise Cauley and the late Stanley William Cauley.
She was employed as a waitress for Sam Snead’s Tavern.
Patricia was a 1964 graduate of Valley High School and attended the Staunton School of Cosmetology.
She visited Life Line Ministries; enjoyed planting and attending to her flowers; was an avid NASCAR fan who cheered for Jeff Gordon. Her passion was her children and grandchildren, she loved spending time with her family, friends and her Yorkie “Marley” .
She is survived by her mother, Frances Hise Cauley & friend Wayne Kicherer of Covington, Virginia; 3 children: Cherie Pritt & husband Hollis of Covington, Glenn Gillispie & wife Laura of Warm Springs, Virginia, Christy Sanders & husband Chuck of Buena Vista, Virginia; 5 grandchildren: Lacassa Pritt of Hot Springs, Levi Pritt of Covington, Brayden Gillispie & Sydney Gillispie both of Warm Springs and Chloe Sanders of Buena Vista; 2 great grand children, Dalton Armentrout of Hot Springs and Noel Plecker of Hot Springs; a brother, David Cauley & wife Zee of Ovida, Florida; 2 sisters, Mary Ryder of Covington, Clara Sue Tennant & husband Jimbo of Millboro, Virginia; 4 special grandchildren, Angelica, Victoria, Savannah & CJ Sanders of Buena Vista; 10 nieces and nephews, Charles Ryder, Jr., Barry Ryder, Cindy Crookshanks, Mike Cauley, Missy Via, Chris Martin, Cody Ryder, Bobby Tennant, Bryan Tennant & Leah Cauley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Life Line Ministries with Pastor Donald Lee Altizer & Pastor Lennie Stinnett officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Levi Pritt, Jullian Shaffier, Barry Ryder, Tommy Ady, Justin Peters, Jeff Roberts, Andy Ryder, Steve Gardner and Scottie Ailstock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hollis Pritt and Chuck Sanders.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Life Line Ministries or anytime at Patricia’s home.
Patricia was a survivor of breast cancer. Her family request that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309.
