Pollyanna “Polly” Ginger Rector, 84, of Millboro, Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia.

She was born January 8, 1939, in Warm Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Ginger and Eva Mae Bonner Ginger.

She retired from Millboro Elementary School as a teacher’s aide. Polly was a member of Millboro Presbyterian Church and served on the session. She enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels and working at the Windy Cove Food Pantry. She worked as a substitute teacher at Millboro Elementary School after retirement. Polly loved taking bus tours and trips with friends all over the country.

She is survived by two children, Sharon R. Madison and husband Danny of Millboro, Virginia, and Cindy R. Andrews and husband Mike of Millboro, Virginia; three grandchildren, Ashli Stuppino and fiancé Kyle Craven, Zach Madison and wife Percillia, and Jared Madison and wife Robin; four great grandchildren, Gianna Stuppino, Tenley Stuppino, Willow Madison, and Case Madison; sister-in-law Emma Ginger, and several nieces and nephews. Polly is also survived by many special friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Rector; sister, Judith Howdeshell and a brother, Jerry E. Ginger.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at George Cleek Cemetery with Pastor David George officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

    I am sad to know that your Mother won’t be with us anymore, but know that she is with Jesus, free from pain and suffering. She had so many friends who loved her so. She did so much for our church, and she was and will be missed by many. Our prayers go out to all the family’
