Rosemary Johnson Beydler, 85, of Winchester, Virginia passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Evergreen Health & Rehab Center in Winchester surrounded by her family.

She was born December 22, 1932 in Jefferson County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William Orlan Johnson and Elsie Mae Jenkins Johnson.

Rosemary was a housewife and loved to cook; no one ever left her house hungry. She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church where she served on the Care Team, the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, the Social Hour Committee Co-chair, and helped with all dinner events. Prior to that she attended Summit Point United Methodist Church where she served as President of the United Methodist Women. Rosemary was a faithful volunteer for the Clarke County Ruritan Club where she helped with Headley’s Auctions, the Clarke County Fair, steam engine shows, tractor pulls and any other events. She could always be found in the food stand serving sandwiches and helping out wherever she could. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jerry Gilbert Beydler whom she married on June 1, 1952; three children, Tony Beydler & wife Donna of Augusta, West Virginia, Mitzi Everly & husband Jeff of Winchester, Virginia, Debbie Young & husband John of Hot Springs, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Jean LaPadula & husband Mike of Middletown, Maryland, Jason Beydler & wife Mary Helen of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Mandy Winebrenner & husband Chad of Inwood, West Virginia, Kate Barsi & husband Ford of Cheverly, Maryland, Brie Powell & husband Jason of Banner Elk, North Carolina, Captain Jessica Jones & husband Jason of Abingdon, Virginia, Gussie Young & friend Dewey Knick, Jr. of Millboro, Virginia, Ashley Garrison & husband Jared of Capon Bridge, West Virginia and Cali VanderWijst & husband David of Martinsburg, West Virginia; eleven great grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail, Eli, Caroline, Georgia, Maddie, Brady, Olivia, Atticus, Hermione, & Graylnn; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Laycock.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Smith officiating. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Mike LaPadula, Jason Beydler, Chad Winebrenner, Ford Barsi, Jason Powell, Jason Jones, Dewey Knick, Jared Garrison and David VanderWijst,

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.

Even though I have not seen Rosemary in a long time, I have very good memories of her caring for others deeply and expressing compassion in a very special way that left a person feeling heard without feeling as if a large number of people were aware of what was happening. She was a very gracious lady and I am thankful I was able to know her for the time our lives crossed paths.
