Humphries     Because of the life, the death, and the resurrection of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; Sharon Humphries entered peacefully into His Glory November 29, 2018. Absent from the body but present with the Lord. Born December 24, 1945 and born again in September 1972.
Sharon was a beautiful woman both inside and out. Her husband said that “She was the most wonderful person he has ever known.” She was a loving wife, proud mother and grandmother. Her love of children was evident in her 43 years of teaching Sunday School and Children’s church
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Ramsey Dean – Bongiovanni and Porter Forest Dean, as well as her step-father, Weyman Bongiovanni. Her deceased siblings are Mildred Sulka, of TX, Porter Forest Dean of AZ, Mary Eleanor Van Stavern of PA, Chlora Lucas of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Robert E. Wease of Staunton, VA, Nina Sue Dean of White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Garland R. Humphries Sr. of Covington, VA and her children, Garland R. Humphries, Jr, and his wife, Lori, of Clifton Forge, VA, Toney R. Humphries II and his wife, Cari, of Daleville, VA and Allen P. Humphries and his wife, Gloria of Clifton Forge, VA. Her living siblings include Patricia Lewis of SC, Richard P. Dean and his wife, Jodi of Roanoke, VA, Nancy Vaughn and her husband, Eddie of Eagle Rock, VA. Her grandchildren, Joshua Chase Humphries of Troutville, VA, Benjamin Cole Humphries and his wife, Mariah of Charlottesville, VA, Andrew Blake Humphries of Clifton Forge/Radford, VA, Brooke Cheyenne Humphries of Vinton, VA, Abigail Reece Humphries of Daleville, VA, Isaiah James Humphries of Clifton Forge, VA and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation services will be held at Hot Springs Baptist Church on Monday, December 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Hot Springs Baptist Church – 737 Virginia Ave, Hot Springs, VA 24445
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 4th at Hot Springs Baptist Church – at 2:00 pm. Services to be officiated by Pastor Garland R. Humphries Sr. and assisted by Pastor Lloyd Camp. There will be a private burial to follow with her immediate family members attending. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hot Springs Baptist Church.

    Ruth and I are praying that God comfort you and strengthen you during these very challenging days. We have that tremendous promise and encouragement from Paul, that we sorrow not as others who have no hope.

    Yes, there is sorrow as a loved one has left you, but we have that blessed hope that we are not saying “Good-bye,” but “See you soon.”
