Shirley Diane Ailstock, 57, of Millboro, Virginia, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at her residence.
She was born November 28, 1954 in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of Doris Estle Clem and the late Helen Deloris Sanders Clem.
Mrs. Ailstock was housewife who enjoyed sewing, baking and reading. She was a member of the Windy Cove Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Henry Ailstock, whom she married on May 28, 1977; 12 children: James Phillip Ailstock & wife Amy of Van Buren, Indiana, Kelley Lee Ailstock & wife Sheri of Marion, Kerri Jean Colvin of Gas City, Indiana, Kevin Joe Ailstock & wife Erin of Upland, Indiana, Michael Shane Ailstock & wife Lori of Ft. Hood, Texas, Brittany Diane Ailstock of Hot Springs, Virginia, Brian Dewayne Ailstock of Craigsville, Virginia, Robert Henry Ailstock of Millboro, Michelle Lynn Shoemaker of Marion, Dallas Mason Estle Ailstock of Millboro and Elizabeth Morgan Spencer Ailstock of Millboro; 18 grandchildren; 5 brothers; Larry Dean Clem & wife Jamie of Clearwater, Florida, Roy Allen Clem & wife Linda, Mark Estle Clem and Cloud Daniel Clem & wife Kathy all of Marion, and Garry Trent Clem & wife Michelle of Fairmount, Indiana; 2 sisters; Hasmer Jolynn Garcia & husband Mike, and Lisa Michelle Glem all of Marion; a brother-in-law, Bart Ailstock & wife Sue; 4 sisters-in-law, Susie Strickler & husband Rod, Linda Chestnut & husband Moe, Marcie Allen & husband Lewis, Mattie Chestnut & husband Darrell; and her many friends with the Sentara Highlands Home Health who took such good care of her.
In addition to their 12 children, she helped care for 87 foster children.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Windy Cove Presbyterian Church with Reverend Rob Sherrard officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Bacova. Pallbearers will be the sons.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at McLaughlin and Young Funeral Home.

  4. Diane was an angel on earth and now God has an angel by his side. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one, especially someone as special as Diane.
