Stanford Howard, 64, of Millboro, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026, at his residence.

He was born May 6, 1961, in Grundy, Virginia, the son of the late Pearl Howard and Evelyn Deel Howard.

Stanford was a retired log truck driver for Jim Gum Logging. He was a member of Rehoboth Community Church. Stanford loved to fish and hunt. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially sitting on the front porch with his brother Mack watching the traffic.

Stanford is survived by his children, David Howard of Millboro, Virginia and Madison Bennett of Hot Springs, Virginia; two grandchildren, Lakyn Howard Martin and Nevaeh Howard Martin of Covington, Virginia; five brothers, Mack Howard and wife Sue of Goshen, Virginia, Lonnie Howard of Sarasota, Florida, Lance Howard of Deerfield, Virginia, Aaron Howard of Deerfield, and Joseph Clark of Millboro, Virginia; a sister; Essie Heffler of Millboro; a special friend, Hope Bennett of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Howard; stepson, Curtis Keyser; two brothers, Joe Donald Deel and Zig Howard; and three sisters, Sherry Lynn Howard, Shirley Fuller, and Canzie Howard.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church in Millboro, Virginia with Pastor Bill Gram officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Baptist Church.
