Suzanne Bonner Green, 79, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Augusta Health, Fishersville, Virginia.

She was born March 11, 1946, in Hot Springs, Virginia, the daughter of the late William Gowin Bonner and Doris Haynes Bonner.

Suzanne worked in the jewelry shop at the Homestead Resort before leaving to raise a family. After the birth of her second daughter, she was a devoted seamstress and homemaker.

She was a dedicated member of Healing Springs Baptist Church. She loved music and singing and was a member of her church choir and a former member of the Alleghany Highlands Chorale. Suzanne was very talented and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking, and many other crafts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She took great pride in all her grandbabies.

She is survived by her husband, William “Willie” Franklin Green, Sr. her husband of 44 years; daughter, Kirby Green Smith & husband Cody of Hot Springs; step-children, William “Frankie” Green & wife Tammie of Waynesboro, Virginia, Deanna Persinger & husband Gary of Raphine, Virginia, Kellie Beavers & husband Kevin of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Cullen, Kade, Canyon, Keagan; step-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Meredith, Mark, Olivia, Kristen, Jeremiah, Rebekah; numerous step-great grandchildren; sister, Judy McElwee & husband Keith of Hot Springs, Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Pat Bonner of Sumter, South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Sue Chestnut; and a brother, Lawrence Bonner.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2026, at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Goforth officiating. Interment will be in Warm Springs Cemetery at a later date.

  6. Suzanne was my second cousin and my Facebook connection to my Virginia relatives. Her grandfather, my Uncle Bud, and my Dad, Walter Haynes, were brothers. We shared memories of wonderful family reunions. She was such a sweet, kind woman. I shall miss corresponding with her. Love and prayers for comfort, strength, and peace to Willie and all the family.
