Teresa E. “Sportie” Collins

Teresa E. “Sportie” Collins, 64, of Bumpass, Virginia died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at her daughter’s residence in Burnsville, Virginia.
She was born February 27, 1949 in Cherry Hill, Virginia the daughter of the late Ralph George and Isabelle Bailey George.
Mrs. Collins was a Government Civilian Employee, retiring 3 years ago.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by two children, Sherrill Robertson & husband Glenn of Burnsville, William “Billy” Collins & wife Angie of Bumpass, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Teresa, Rebecca, Annie, Michael, Joshua, B.J., Tiffany & Aaron; five great grandchildren, Madison, Emily, Cheyenne, Zoey & Will; three brothers, Clyde Waite, Ralph George and Steve George; and four sisters, Bonnie George, Mary Schouk, Sherrill Mountjoy and Tina George.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carla Jean Robertson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 23, 2013 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Walter “Buddy” Davis . Interment will be in Jacob Cleek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
