Toby Douglas Stanley, Sr., 70, of 8187 Big Flint Road, West Union, West Virginia passed away Monday, October 06, 2014 at his residence.

He was born January 1, 1944 in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of the late Edward Stanley and Genevieve Mines Stanley .

Mr. Stanley was retired from the US Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was a recruiting officer for Wyotech.

He was a member of the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation; enjoyed hunting and fishing; and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Doug Stanley of Portland, Oregon, Wesley Stanley of Ft. Wiley, Kansas and Genevieve Stanley Wilt & husband Samuel of Shinnston, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Samantha & Hunter Stanley both of Portland and Hadleigh Wilt of Shinnston; two brothers; Tommy Stanley & wife Helen of Maryville, Tennessee and Teddy Stanley & wife Norma of Amherst, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Stanley.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Warm Springs Cemetery with Reverend Tom Stanley officiating.
