Tony Gray Woodzell, 62, of Warm Springs, Virginia passed away Saturday, December 05, 2015 at his residence.
He was born January 10, 1953 in Hot Springs, the son of Robert “Bobby” Gray Woodzell and Nellie Anna McCray Woodzell of Hot Springs.
He was employed as a carpenter with Jerry Rexrode Masonry. Prior to that he worked for The Homestead Resort.
Tony was a member of the Chimney Run Church of the Brethren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing especially bear hunting; he was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sharrie Renee Pound Woodzell whom he married on June 28, 1997; two children, Brandon Woodzell & wife Stacey of Covington, Virginia and Cody Woodzell of Warm Springs; two grandchildren, Blake & Layni Woodzell of Covington; a sister, Michele Shaver & husband Bob of Advance, North Carolina; Special Friends, Joy & Carl Chestnut of Hot Springs; a brother-in-law & sister-law, Travis & Jenn Pound of Ashland, Virginia; his Mother-in-law & Father-in-law, John & Linda Pound of Warm Springs; a sister-in-law, Linda Woodzell of Hot Springs; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Owen Woodzell; and a mother-in-law, Nancy Rumpf Pound.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Zach Royer & Reverend Louis Dodd officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
