William “Bill” Watson Pettus, 60, of 224 West Warm Springs Drive, Warm Springs, Virginia died Monday, November 12, 2012 at his residence.
He was born July 14, 1952 in Warm Springs, Virginia, the son of the late Walter W. Pettus and Nellie Moats Pettus. Mr. Pettus was employed as waiter & supervisor at the Homestead Resort.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and the Four Wheelers Hunt Club. He enjoyed fishing & hunting and loved to sing. He was a loving brother and friend to all.
He is survived by four brothers, Woodrow “Woody” Pettus & wife Ruby of Warm Springs, Reverend Doctor Vernon Pettus & wife Susan of Woodbridge, Virginia, Joe L. Pettus & friend Jennifer of Waynesboro, Virginia and Lloyd W. Pettus & wife Joann of Richmond, Virginia; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph E. Pettus; a sister, Elizabeth Scales; and a stepmother, Lois Pettus.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend Arlene Cooper & Reverend Doctor Vernon Pettus officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at McLaughlin and Young Funeral Home.
