William H. “Bootsie” Berry IV, 84, of Hot Springs, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 at Bath County Community Hospital.
He was born August 20th, 1931 in Richmond, Virginia, son of the late William H. Berry III and Violet J. Berry. From the age of twelve, he was lovingly cared for by Raymond and Nealie S. Myers of Hot Springs, Virginia.
Bootsie was retired from the Homestead Hotel after many years of service as a painter and upholsterer. He was a veteran who served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spectator sports. Above all, Bootsie had a deep faith in Christ, and was a member of Living Stones Ministries.
Mr. Berry was married to his wife Martha C. Berry for sixty years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Allan Berry and wife Yvonne of Chesterfield, Virginia; a daughter Tracy Rollins and husband Mike of Millboro, Virginia; one sister, Gracie Williams and husband Jim of Rockville, Maryland; four grandchildren, Michelle Floyd and husband Jeff, Kimberly Vervain and husband Sean, Adrian Berry and Lindsay Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Ava & Maren Floyd, and Salim & Zipporah Vervain. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Connie M. Berry.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2015 at Living Stones Ministries Church, 100 Griffith Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Mike Rollins. The family will receive guests from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., with service to follow.
