RobertsonWilliam Jonathan Robertson, 78, of 1043 Poor Farm Road, Warm Springs, Virginia died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his residence.

He was born May 11, 1937 in Warm Springs, the son of the late Ernest Roy Robertson and Ruby Gatha Robertson.

He was retired from the road crew of Plecker Construction.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Robertson attended Chimney Run Church of the Brethren; and was the grounds keeper for several families and hunt clubs in Bath County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and his dogs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lindsay Robertson of 28 years whom he married on May 20, 1987; four children, Mary Robertson Ricketson & husband Kevin of Staunton, Virginia, Shirley Phillips & husband Tommy of Staunton, Virginia, John Hise & wife Gail of Warm Springs, Virginia, Linda Hanson of Kiln, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Joanna, Nicholas and Carter Ricketson; Christopher Craun; Miranda and Hannah Phillips; Brandi Hise; Tristan and Dalton Niceley; Anthony Maready; and Troy Funk, Jr.; and 2 great grandchildren, Jayden & Serenity Funk; and a brother, George “Sonny” Robertson & wife Kathy of Moorefield, WV.

He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Trinity Funk; and a brother, David Roy Robertson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Robertson officiating & Reverend Garland Humphries assiting. Interment will be in Jacob Cleek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Ricketson, Wayne Robertson, Danny Robertson, Tommy Robertson, George Robertson, Johnny Ailstock, Albert Ailstock and Don Robertson.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Doris Via Foundation or the Bolar Fire Department.

    the members of Robath Hunt Club. I spoke to Joni back in November about his salvation, and
