Carrie Ann Pierce Frye, 38, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at Bath Community Hospital.

She was born September 14, 1983, in Dunkirk, New York, the daughter of Kathleen Ann Kaus Pierce and the late Gerald Pierce.

Carrie was employed as a teacher’s aide at Bath County High School, where she also coached the girls’ softball team for 3 years, and everyone at the school called her the “School Mom”.

She was a member of Healing Springs Baptist Church, where she helped with the youth group.  Carrie was a creative soul who loved to paint, draw, and do all kinds of crafts.

In addition to her mother, Kathleen Pierce, she is survived by her husband Adam Richards Frye; sister, Alexis Sarnoski and husband Joseph of Ft. Riley, Kansas; parents-in-law, Curtis and Cynthia Frye of Bristol, Virginia; a brother-in-law, Sean Frye and wife Amanda of Bristol, Virginia; special friends among many others, Rusty and Pam Bragg, Chase Davidson, and Chrisy Harmon.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the Bath County High School auditorium with Reverend Richard Goforth officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 – 200 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Doris Via Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 174, Hot Springs, Virginia 24445 or the Bath County High School Athletics Department, 464 Charger Lane, Hot Springs, Virginia 24445.

  2. Carrie was an integral thread in the tapestry of Bath County High School and the community. She was highly respected as a dedicated educator among the entire staff. Her commitment to the students was total. All l can humbly offer is, “Thank you, Carrie, you made a difference.” Adam and family has my deepest sympathy.

  4. Adam, Lexie, and Kathy…..I am sooooo sorry to hear this. Carrie and I became fast Facebook friends after she got a nephrostomy tube I have had tubes on both sides, then we talked even more after I was diagnosed with cancer myself. Adam I’ve never met you or Carrie, or Kathy either but my heart goes out to you guys, sending love and hugs. Hugs to Lexie too!!!

  5. Oh Beatrice…(the name my kids gave you when you bravely babysat them), You are way too young to leave us. My heart breaks for your sister your mom and your husband. However, I know a joyous reunion took place when you got to heaven to be with your dad. You have always been a special girl. Rest in peace my friend.

  7. Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss of Carrie, surely she “went too soon,” and your heart is broken. Curtis, you come from a family of faith and I’m sure faith will get your family through this tragedy. We are praying for Adam and the entire family.

  8. Although I only met Carrie and Adam once, I knew that she was a special, wonderful person. There are no words to express my sorrow, but please know that she touched me so much with her smile.

  10. Kathy, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. There is nothing as hard as loosing a child. Our oldest son died also of cancer a few years ago. Please know you are in my prayers and thoughts.
